HOPE DEFERRED

There is a sense
Of hope returning
Life arising
Death retreating
In our land.

For we have known
The weight of darkness
Plans defeated
Hope deferred
hearts so sick.

But this new hope
Is not in vaccines
Lockdown easing
Spring arriving
Sometime soon.

The light that shines
The tree of life
Darkness vanquished
death deferred
This is our Hope.

Longing fulfilled
In Him accepted
from darkness freed
In love Transplanted
This is our Hope

There is in us
Eternal life
A light that shines
The Hope we have eternal
Hope for the world.
