Paul S' Story
Unlike some of the encouters that you can read about here, my stroy is much more mundane. I've never been involved in any occult practices, I've been fortunate that all of my immediate family are healthy and to a large degree happy, and I have a good job, a nice home, a wonderful wife and two daughters that are very aware of how much their daddy loves them. I've not heard any audible voice from above, nor have I 'seen' angels or demons. But I still don't know where I would be, were it not for Jesus.
My family are not religious people, and it was only at the age of 19, when many teenagers are fully into their rebellious phase, that I became a Christian. It gave me an identity that I was lacking before, and resolved a loneliness that had been with me for as long as I could remember. It also allowed me to meet my future wife, and so I can say now that without this experience, my girls would never have been born.
As a couple, we've had periods in our lives when things have been tough financially and health-wise. We were married for 12 years before our first child was born, and we were facing the real possibility of never having a family. Through hard work, perseverance, the closeness of our friends and our faith in God, we get through. And looking back, it's clear that God's hand was in my life, giving direction and influence way before I was aware of Him. And this is something for which I will always be grateful.
This might not appear to be a spectacular story, but it's the one I have been given. Jesus isn't just the answer to the big issues in life - He's the answer to the little ones as well. And when you know that, you realise that there's no closer friend you can have.
