Covid-19 Update on Journey Gatherings

As government guidelines have changed over time, we've adapted, taking the best advice available, making sure that we minimise risks and follow best practice while trying to maintain  those important relationships, friendships, support for one another, and times of shared worship both through small groups and corporate gathering times - whether digital or 'in person'. We still have plenty of opportunity to support, encourage and lift one another up, and support our neighbours and local community during these times, so let's make the best of it!

For the next bit of time we've settled on a rhythm of meeting alternate Sundays in person at the Hub, and online via 'Zoom' video calls for our gatherings. There is also a Zoom option for weeks we meet in person for those unable or who would prefer not to meet in person - we do our best to help you feel part of what is going on, regardless!

Let's try to support each other in our practical needs and encourage each other - perhaps have a think about who you can contact for a chat or just ask after. Please share encouraging words, stories, resources, prayer requests and anything else you can think of with each other and/ or all of us!

For the weeks we meet in person, we have the option to gather outside (weather permitting) or inside, where there is a large enough space for us to socially distance and observe all the proper precautions.

All of our gatherings start at 10:30am and last about an hour, with our prayer time taking place from 10:15.

We'd love to have you join us in whichever capacity.

Here's the Zoom link for all our gatherings (no password): https://us02web.zoom.us/j/6866283015

We're also trying to meet for socially distanced picnics on the Village Green every week following both types of gatherings while weather permits. In line with government legislation, we will be splitting off into groups of no more than six people.

These are our planned dates till the end of October:
September
6th - in person
13th - Zoom
20th - in person
27th - Zoom
October
4th - in person
11th - in person
18th - Zoom  - 'River Together' - meeting of four congregations of River church
25th - in person

As we inhabit a time where there seems to be a little less certainty, let's establish new rhythms and depths of prayer and worship, to go deeper with our Heavenly Father and rest in God's peace. The King of Glory is here, among us and with us in all this - fully bought in - and the Spirit of God is at work, even (and perhaps especially) now.

If you'd like say hi, or have any questions, please do drop us a line at: info@thejourney.org.uk and we'll get in touch with you.

Sunday Gatherings

One of the best ways to get to know The Journey is to join us one Sunday for our morning gathering or once a month for our community lunch.

Our Sunday Gatherings are from 10.30am to 12:15pm at The Forest Estate Community Hub, 57 Larchwood Drive, Englefield, Green TW20 0SL. Everyone is welcome no matter where they are on their journey of faith, their age or personal circumstances. We start with refreshments at 10:30 until 10:45 and then have a relaxed meeting which includes musical worship led by a band, practical and relevant teaching from the Bible, opportunities for prayer, and sharing stories of what God has been doing in our lives. We end at 12:15 with more refreshments. From time to time we do something different from the norm and explore faith in a creative way – details are published ahead of time. Our meetings are appropriate for both those who are looking to grow their faith in Jesus and those exploring what faith is. Children are an important part of our church family, so we also provide activities for them to help them to learn about who God is and how they can interact with him.

For details of what we have going on over the next few months, click here to look at our termly leaflet.

On the first Sunday of each month we have a free community lunch from 12.45 to 2:15 to which all are welcome. There is no requirement to attend the service beforehand - just turn up for the lunch.

During August there are no Sunday Gatherings at the Community Hub but a full programme of social activities published nearer to the time.

Once a term River's four churches meet together for an inspiring celebration called River Together. This meeting, held at different venues throughout the year, runs from 10:30 to 12:30 and typically includes Worship, Bible teaching and prayer ministry. It also includes a full programme of activities for 0 to 16 year olds.
