How can we ensure the Gospel is communicated to today's society in a language that can be more easily understood? The "Billy Graham" style message of the 50's just doesn't work in 2019. Speaking from Colossians 2, guest speaker Laurence Singlehurst outlines the issues and gives some suggestions on how we might be smarter in our approach.

Laurence makes a welcome second visit to River Maidenhead this year and refers again to the ‘Talking Jesus’ survey. Laurence shares that we are not always very good at making the gospel message clear. He asks us to think about how we ensure that are conversations are ‘Good Conversations’ and show that in Jesus we have a compelling hope.

Laurence calls for a change in the way we 'do' evangelism; we should adapt our language, along with our tone, and a new approach and rhythm to evangelism are also needed.

Laurence worked in Youth With a Mission from 1976 to 2003 and is currently Director of Cell UK. His particular passion is equipping churches to reach their communities.
