Prayer in river Church

Jan VickersJan Vickers writes:  When Solomon had completed building the temple the Lord spoke to him saying "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that My name may be there for ever. My eyes and My heart will always be there.” 2 Chron 7:14

As the temple of the Holy Spirit - as His people - His eyes and heart are with us and His ears listen to our prayers, longing to work through us to bring the healing and transformation to us as individuals and to our land. This is why we pray – because of the presence of the Lord with us and because we catch His heart and see through His eyes and long for the healing He longs to bring.

River is a praying church – so do get involved in prayer wherever you can – or get together to pray with some friends and see what the Lord does.

Here are details of the various ways in which we pray together, in small groups and as a whole church, in and around our localities.

Sundays - Each congregation has a pre-Sunday meeting prayer time open to anyone who wants to attend. There is also usually an opportunity to be prayed with by a member of the local prayer team at the end of a Sunday meeting.

Thursdays - Every Thursday at 6am (but check the calendar!) there is an early morning time of prayer hosted by Dave and Chloe at their house in Maidenhead.

Fridays - On Fridays there is a prayer gathering at the Windsor Hall from 10am-1pm. All are welcome to come and join in.

Other - We also hold regular Prayer Gatherings for the whole of the church - click here for details.

We encourage all members of the church to be actively involved in prayer, both on their own and with others.

You can find details of all these and other events in the calendar.
